Aman Singha, Director of Operations, is responsible for oversight and leading teams and projects throughout different initiatives in the company. He has over 19 years of experience in legal, finance and operations and has held various leadership positions in the past. He started his career in New York as a Wall Street corporate lawyer closing various M&A and financing transactions with an aggregate value of close to $4 billion. He was then recruited to build a venture capital division of a diversified investment bank in Southern California, where he invested with leading VC firms from Silicon Valley deploying close to $200 million. He has also taken C- level leadership positions in public and private companies leading them from startup through hi-growth periods and has also successfully led turnaround situations, most recently growing a company from $7 million to $75 million over a three-year period.
Manoj Singh, VP/CPO – Customer Service Solution, is leading the extremely talented engineering team at SEW which is building the industry’s leading Customer Engagement and Workforce Management platform for Utilities and helping bring SEW technology to the consumers. He has over 15 years of experience developing products and has held various leadership positions in the past. Prior to SEW, Manoj worked in leadership role at Digi India leading SaaS based product development.
Lance Brown, Vice President of Customer Service Solutions at SEW, is a customer service professional with more than 35 years of experience in the public utility and retail industries. The majority of this experience comes from his career with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), the largest municipal utility in the United States. He was promoted to director of customer services in 2006 and remained in that position until his retirement in February 2011. As director, he was responsible for the activities of more than 1,500 employees directly involved in providing customer service to more than 1.8 million customers. His areas of responsibility were comprised of the customer contact center and customer service centers; field services including meter reading, field service, and revenue security; and revenue management including billing and collections, remittance processing and mail center operations.
During Lance’s tenure with the LADWP, he was involved in numerous major projects including installing and implementing new interactive voice response systems, new field order deployment systems and upgrades, improvements in meter reading systems, and software and hardware projects for remittance processing and mail center operations. He also belonged to several customer service organizations including the American Public Power Association, the California Municipal Utilities Association, and the Call Center Network Group. Due to his vast customer service knowledge and experience, upon his retirement he was asked to remain, on contract, to provide advisory support for the new customer service information system, a major system upgrade and implementation. Lance graduated from California State University at Northridge. He is dedicated to helping organizations provide excellent customer service.
Mashal Dhawan, Chief Marketing Officer at SEW, is responsible for product marketing and research , analyzing the overall market for new business trends and insights in the Energy & Utility Industry for SEW products. As a Chief Marketing Officer/VP Marketing, she is responsible for performing product market research to identify the needs of the utilities and help SEW determine what products and services utility customers require to address current & future challenges. Her area of focus revolves around analyzing and identify the potential markets and provide pre-sales support to the sales team. With in-depth utilities and technology product experience , Mashal is also responsible for identifying the new features to address utilities business and customer challenges by aligning and optimizing business process.
Mashal holds an Engineering degree in Computer Science from Thapar University, along with Executive Management from IIM Calcutta.
Aras Akbari, Vice President of Demand Response and AMI/SmartGrid Solutions, is an innovative technology leader with over 7 years of experience in the Utilities industry, focusing on strategy and delivery of advanced technical Demand Response solutions which resolve large-scale business challenges. Aras’ extensive experience includes a sharp focus on software product development, many complete product life cycles, product requirement, definition, design, prototyping, testing, release engineering, implementation, and maintenance of software products. He was involved in numerous major projects and managed multiple software programs with a total projected budget of $35 million.
Prior to join SEW, Aras as energy analysis enhanced and maintained decision-making models relating to real-time energy pricing, generation optimization, and generation forecasting resulting in buying decisions worth $62.4M.
Prior to joining utility industry, Aras as research assistance in Nasa Ames Research Center, researched, defined, designed, and implemented a variation of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence algorithms.
As President, Harman leads the strategic growth initiatives at Smart Energy Water. He has extensively advised Energy and Utility companies on commodity management, regulation, Smart Grid, metering, and information technology projects. Prior to joining SEW he worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG for over 11 years where he led the delivery of business strategy and technology consulting services to Fortune 1000 companies. He is passionate about developing impactful technology products and scalable SaaS business models. Harman holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Computer Sciences and Master of Business Administration (MBA).
Tony Williams, Vice President of Mobile Workforce Solutions at SEW has over 25 years of experience working in the electric and gas utility. Tony brings a diverse set of skills and experiences to his role including utility strategy development, training and development and business process improvement. He has successfully helped utilities gain efficiencies and improve core operations throughout his career.
Prior to joining SEW, Tony spent 3.5 years at Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) as Director of Electric Operations Training where he was responsible for Training and Development for the Electric Operations organization. In this role, Tony successfully brought innovation to core training procesSEW that resulted in substantial cost efficiencies and improved workforce productivity year-over-year. Similarly, he led the implementation of mobile solutions for some of PG&E’s most critical job training procesSEW—including pre-apprentice lineman, apprentice lineman, and cable splicer—resulting in increased engagement and training efficiency.
Prior to his tenure at PG&E Tony spent 23 years at Southern California Edison (SCE), many of which in leadership roles in support of Transmission and Distribution operations and learning and development.
Tony is a graduate of the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California where he received his MBA and has a BS in Marketing from California State University Chico.
Ken Roberts, Vice President of Sales - International Market at SEW is responsible for developing, directing and executing the Firm’s overall strategic sales. Ken brings a diverse background and has more than 21 years of product marketing, channel marketing, product development, sales, engineering, technology, B2B and consumer marketing experience on a global scale. Ken has held a vice president of sales and marketing position as well as other senior management roles.
Prior to joining Smart Energy Water, Ken spent 9 years at Samsung Corporation, where he held product marketing and engineering positions. At Hewlett Packard, he served as product manager responsible for $400M in sales. He oversaw the development of both of these product categories that resulted in exceeding Hewlett Packard’s sales goals and also being awarded the HP Star Award for a significant contribution to HP’s sales, revenue and profitability.
Ken is a graduate of the University of Southern California and received a BA in Spanish and also graduated from California State University Long Beach where he received a BS in Quality Assurance Engineering.

Nu Pho, Director of Product Delivery, is responsible for major project implementations and deliverables. Nu is recognized within the utility industry as a leader for successful implementation of innovative solutions that are transforming how utilities connect with their customers. She has over 33 years of experience in information technology, corporate management, program management, and IT operations. In addition to a strong record of industry innovations, she has the accountability and track record of successfully delivering complex technology projects valued at $350M.
Prior to joining SEW, she was the Program Manager leading all information technology projects for implementation of the major award winning program for Smart Grid Advanced Metering at Southern California Edison (SCE). Projects under her auspices included systems and integrations of smart meters, communications, data collection engine, network management, meter data management, advanced load control, home-area network, billing, data warehouse, outage management, portal, and performance monitoring & management.
She brings a wealth of experience in Demand Response Program, Utility Program Management, General Rate Case Filing, NERC-CIP Compliance Management, Business Resiliency, Portfolio Management, Business Case Development-Review, Vendor Service/Product Selection, System Development Life Cycle, IT Strategic Planning, Contract/Vendor Management, Systems Integration, Enterprise Architecture, and AMI/Smart Grid technology.
Brad Adamske, Vice President of Sales – North America, is responsible for developing, directing and executing the overall sales strategy for the Water IQ product line. Brad is an experienced technology executive with 25 plus years of sales and operational experience in software and hardware revenue generation for large corporations and startups. Most recently he was Chief Operating Officer at Truckast, Inc. a cloud based provider to the construction industry. Previously he was Founder and CEO of NowDocs, Inc. a software as a service solution in use today by many of the world’s leading print-on-demand service providers.
Kevin Hwang, Director of Product Implementations is responsible for the long-term vision and strategy for the company’s products and innovative solutions to anticipate and fulfill future utility needs. He is in charge of the product roadmap including the concept, design and implementation of the products. He also oversees implementation of client solutions and deliveries to ensure successful and alignment of the products.
Prior to joining SEW, Kevin was a Senior Manager in Transmission and Distribution Business Unit at Southern California Edison. He was responsible for the implementation of software based solutions for the field and office personnel to enhance the efficiency and performance of their daily work. In his role, Kevin successfully brought innovations to over twenty six core business projects including but not limit to the implementation of the mobile library solution to T&D's Substation that yielded tremendous cost saving, increased engagement, workforce productivity, and training effectiveness to the organization.
With over 17 years of experience in the utility, Kevin brings a diverse set of skills and experience to his role at SEW including utility strategy development, a firm understanding of the utility business process (both in the technical and business side), and customer/workforce engagement.
Thomas Lee, Director of Corporate Finance, leads the development of financial strategies at Smart Energy Water. He is responsible for various financial initiatives including investment and M&A valuation, capital structuring and financing, as well as, solution pricing and deal proposals. He has over 10 years of Financial Management experience and has held various leadership positions during his career. He was responsible for managing annual capital investment of over $500 million in maritime equipment in addition to overseeing assets valued at more than $2 billion. He went on to successfully take the company public in 2010 and subsequent privatization in 2013. Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business & Economics from Lehigh University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Cornell University.
Al Williams, Account Director of Digital Customer Solutions, works with SEW’ clients to help them leverage the value of our digital customer engagement and payment solutions. Formerly at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, he formulated and co-led the strategy to develop and launch HP Prepaid, a mobile-based prepaid utility billing solution for HP’s Convenience Pay business unit, prior to its recent acquisition by Fiserv. Al also served as Vice President of e-commerce sales for First Data’s Advanced Solutions Group where he led First Data’s entry into biller payment services designed for utilities and other industry verticals and as Vice President of Sales at Harbor Payments, an American Express company.
Al is an experienced executive with over 25 years of experience in selling technology solutions to enterprise clients. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and is based in Atlanta.
Veteran business leader Ashwin (“Ash”) Rangan joined ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) in March 2014. He currently serves as ICANN’s SVP, Engineering and Chief Information Officer (CIO). Ash is based in ICANN’s Los Angeles hub office.
Throughout his career, Ash has driven global expansion. He has been at the forefront of innovation through the skillful leverage, use and implementation of Information Technology systems, procesSEW, infrastructure and management. Prior to joining ICANN, he served as the CIO for a variety of companies in different Industry-verticals, including Edwards LifeSciences, MarketShare, Walmart Inc., Conexant Systems, and Rockwell International.
Ash has published 2 books on the subject of serving as a CIO: @2008 – Tomorrow’s CIO – Strategic Conversations that align IT with the Board Room; and @2014 – The C-Suite CIO – Aligning Relationships with Senior Peers.
Ash serves on the Board of a few companies in Southern California. He also lends his time and talent to the Board of the American Red Cross in Orange County, California; and the Board of the University of California, Irvine’s Center for Digital Transformation.
Ash holds a Master’s degree from National Institute of Industrial Engineering in Mumbai, India; and a Bachelor’s degree from the Bangalore University, India. He is a long-standing member of the International MENSA.
Besides English, Ash is fluent in Hindi, Kannada and Tamil. He has a working knowledge of French. And claims some fluency in Swahili. His wife and he, with their twenty-something twins, make a home for themselves in the heart of Orange County, California.
Mike retired as the President and CEO of PRTM Management Consultants. PRTM had more than 800 consultants in 19 offices worldwide; PRTM was globally recognized as the leading management consultant in the area of operational strategy, supply chain management, product innovation, and customer experience excellence. PWC recently acquired PRTM.
Aghajanian has over 25 years of consulting and industry experience. He joined PRTM in 1991 and held a variety of roles of increasing responsibility. Among his many accomplishments, Mike led the firm’s expansion into Asia. Established the Performance Measurement Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of PRTM that is well known for its extensive industry benchmarks. Co-led the team that developed the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model which is widely used tool to optimize global supply chains.
Mike Aghajanian is currently supporting the Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine as the Executive Director of the Office of Executive Education on a part-time basis. In this role Mike is responsible for the development and delivery of high quality non-degree related education to the Southern California Business Community.
In addition to Mike’s role at University of California in Irvine, Mike serves as Chairman of the Board for Cimtek, Inc. a Toronto based leader in functional testing of high reliability electronics. Mike is on the Board of Directors of Nexiant, Inc., a leading provider of MRO inventory solutions and on the Board of Directors for OCTAN (Orange County Technology Action Network) an organization devoted to fueling technology growth in Orange County.

Kevin Ellison is an experienced executive level business leader with experience leading teams in operations, customer service, sales, marketing and safety.
He is currently a senior consultant with Caterpillar Safety Services, with a focus on transforming an organizations safety culture and performance. His focus is leadership, safety culture and safety process improvement.
As the Executive Director of Customer Service Safety & Meter Services Organizations (MSO) at Southern California Edison, where he served 10 years, Kevin led the operations organization responsible for all aspects of the end-to-end meter process including meter specification, selection, procurement, engineering, quality control, meter reading, field services provision, and revenue protection. MSO had approximately 1,200 employees committed to safely providing timely and accurate services to customers throughout the SCE 50,000 square-mile service territory. During his time at SCE, MSO, in conjunction with the SCE Smart Meter Organization, successfully deployed approximately 5.2 million smart meters.
Kevin joined Southern California Edison in 2004 as Director of Government and Institutions in the Business Customer Division. He was responsible for the oversight and direction of a customer and account management organization that worked with federal, state, city, county, agricultural, and water customers to provide integrated utility services and solutions to meet customer energy needs. His responsibility also included privatization of military installation electric facilities as well working with companies and customers considering municipilization.
Kevin has more than 34 years of utility experience, previously working at LG&E Energy Corp. (Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company) headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. At LG&E, Kevin held a number of executive, senior management and management positions in Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, T&D Operations, and Economic Development, both regulated and un-regulated. Kevin was part of the leadership during a successful merger and an acquisition by an International Energy Company (PowerGen).
Kevin holds an MBA from Bellarmine University, a BSBA from the University of Louisville (BSBA), attended numerous Executive Level Seminars, has a certificate from Villanova University as a Six Sigma Black Belt and holds the Certified Financial Manager certificate.
Baba Shiv is the Sanwa Bank, Ltd., Professor of Marketing at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He has done extensive work on the emotional brain, documenting its powerful role in shaping decisions and experiences. His work includes the application of neuroeconomics to the study and practice of innovation and entrepreneurial leadership in companies, from Silicon Valley startups to Fortune 500 companies, as well as countries including India, Malaysia and New Zealand. He frequently consults with and is on the advisory boards of several start-ups. Eric Thor Olson, is a retired United States Navy admiral who last served as the eighth Commander, U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) from July 2, 2007 to August 8, 2011. He previously served as Deputy Commander, U.S. Special Operations Command from 2003 to July 2007. Olson was the first Navy SEAL ever to be appointed to three-star and four-star flag rank, as well as the first naval officer to be USSOCOM's combatant commander. He retired from active duty on August 22, 2011 after over 38 years of service.

Ravinder “Ravi” Sajwan finished undergraduate studies at IIT, Varanasi, India in 1982 and graduated with MS in EE from NYU School of Engineering in 1984.
His current interests and investments include in Cloud Infrastructure, CPG, Nutraceuticals, Pharmaceuticals, Medical devices and related software.
Currently, Charles serves as the Executive Director and CEO of the Southern California Water Committee. He is a key figure in Southern California’s public affairs for more than 30 years.
He has spent the past 25 years in the electric utility industry with Southern California Edison where he led the development and implementation of third party strategic planning and communication efforts. He also serves as principal owner of PC Consulting Services Inc. – a consulting firm dedicated to providing strategic counsel, public affairs, government relations and communications to public agencies, private sector business clients and non-profits.
Charles is also an elected board member of the Santa Margarita Water District. Prior to joining Edison, Wilson served as director of community and media affairs for State and U.S. Senator John Seymour. He has also worked in sports radio and television with ABC, ESPN, and the Netherlands Broadcast Company.
A frequent lecturer and university level instructor, Wilson was invited to provide advanced political campaign and communications seminars to train candidates and political parties in Novosibirsk, Russia. A graduate of UCLA, Charles earned his BA degree in political science with an emphasis in international relations and public administration.
Megan Hottman is the Director of Strategic Programs and leads Smart Energy Water in strategic planning and implementation. She holds a Master of Science degree from CSU Long Beach in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. She brings several years of utility and project management experience and has successfully managed several of the company’s largest client product implementations, both domestic and international. Additionally, she is responsible for driving the strategic growth initiatives of SEW. Prior to SEW, Megan spent time at the nation’s largest gas distribution utility, SoCalGas where she had a diverse role that involved supporting customer strategy, organizational change management, market research, rate case development and advanced meter infrastructure implementation. Megan is passionate about the humanistic factor of organizations and utilizing SEW team members to innovate, collaborate and grow strategically on a global scale.
Rajiv Gupta is the Data Architect responsible for defining the data platform and integration strategies at Smart Energy Water. Rajiv has 15 years of experience consulting with small and large companies on all aspects of Data Management, Storage, Modelling and Integration. In addition to the Utilities industry, Rajiv has worked in Financial Services, Ecommerce, Media, Entertainment, Automotive, and Healthcare. He has developed integration solutions which transform small and “Big Data” volumes within aggressive SLAs. Rajiv has hands-on experience designing and developing solutions using massively parallel processing (MPP) data management platforms including Netezza, Teradata, and Hadoop. In addition, Rajiv has worked on real-time data integration solutions leveraging Java Messaging (JMS), Tibco, and SOAP/REST web services.
Rajiv has also worked extensively in Data Analytics. He has worked with Enterprise stakeholders to gather requirements to design data warehouse and real-time reporting solutions using Business Intelligence tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, and Business Objects. Solutions include both static and interactive dashboards with out-of-the-box visualizations as well as custom visualizations using D3 & High Charts.
Prior to working at SEW, Rajiv worked at Teradata Corporation in the In the business intelligence consultancy services group. Rajiv worked as an Associate Partner responsible for developing reusable products and services as well as managing implementations. Rajiv holds Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
Jakan Janagadevan is the Director of Product Implementation and leads the implementation of Customer Engagement software (SaaS and Mobile platform) for many Tier 1 Customers. Jakan has over 20 years of experience and expertise in software application development & implementation, IT solution delivery & roadmap and Supply Chain Strategy.
Prior to joining SEW, Jakan worked as a Sr IS Manager at Ingram Micro (Fortune100 company) leading E-Commerce ($4 billon), Enterprise Application Integration(EAI) and Business Process Management(BPM) practice. Before that, he worked at Take solutions responsible for product development and implementation of supply chain SaaS product for several Fortune 500 companies.
Amit Sharma, Product Implementation Director leads delivery of cloud solutions for Water and Power Utilities. He is passionate about solving client problems by focusing on Customer Service, Product innovation and Operational excellence. He constantly provides input in shaping up the Corporate and Business Strategy for the company. He is well versed with a Global Business and Product Delivery Model and have managed large offshore teams around the globe. He has extensive experience in Utilities, Healthcare, Mortgage, and Background Screening industries. Prior to joining SEW he has held various managerial and leadership positions at HireRight, UnitedHealth Group, and Keane for over 15 years.
Amit holds an MBA from University of California, Irvine and a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electrical from Dayalbagh University, India. He is PMP certified professional, Six Sigma Green Belt and Sun Certified Enterprise Architect.
Hilary Hashim is the Director of Client Success and leads the Client Success team responsible for the areas of Customer Marketing & Outreach, Training and Support ensuring the end to end client experience, solution adoption, and goal achievement. Her strengths are building and maintaining client relationships, new technology implementation and adoption, project management, business process improvement, change management and training. She enjoys and is passionate about building and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients and working with clients to achieve successful solution adoption. Hilary has several years of experience working at software solution companies and has previously held positions at Accenture, Cerner and CareFusion. During her career, she has received multiple awards for her strong customer focus and commitment including “Best Customer Service” and “Client Care All Star” awards.

Thuy-An brings a diverse set of skills and experience to her role at Smart Energy Water (SEW) providing change, innovative strategy, learning and performance improvement solutions to help achieve business goals, technology incorporation and competitive advantage. She has a firm understanding of the utility business and technical processes, technical infrastructure, security, architecture, integration, customer engagement and workforce management.
Thuy-An has more than 10 years of experience in managing client relationships, projects, and training with a strong emphasis on software design and deployment. Prior to joining SEW, she was a Senior Manager in AMI deployment at Southern California Edison (SCE). She led the implementation of the AMI systems including the Meter Data Management, Head-End, Network Management System, Cyber Security, Meters and Devices Tracking System and Smart Grid Operation Center that supports deployment of 5.2 million advanced electric meters.
Afshin Tajian is the director of ‘Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)’ at Smart Energy Water.
Afshin has more than seventeen years of experience in prominent engineering organizations as electrical engineer, consultant, and program manager. He has led technical design and implementation of a number of large-scale Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Automated Meter Reading (AMR) deployments for electric utilities such as LADWP and New York Con Edison, as well the United States Navy. He has participated in the creation and review of the NIST Smart Grid Standards, as well as very first Smart Meter Acceptance Test Procedures in the industry. Afshin is also experienced with integration of Smart Grid applications and automated meter-to-bill processes as it pertains to large electric utilities, and as an expert in the subject of smart metering, has authored a few articles and researches on this subject.
Afshin holds an MS Degree in Electric Power Engineering from the New York University Polytechnic School of Engineering. Sumana Sarkar, Director, Product Engineering & Development - Enterprise Applications is responsible for delivery of SAP integrated Customer Engagement and Workforce Management solution at SEW. She is leading a team of very talented programmers for end to end product delivery with SAP integration. She is having 12+ years of professional experience working on advanced SAP technologies and leading multiple global SAP implementations, support and upgrade projects.
Sumana holds B.Tech in Information Technology.
Experienced Consultant that brings a demonstrated customer service history of over 30 years in the energy and water industry to SEW. Skilled in operations management, smart metering, and conservation. Strong utility professional with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Management from Woodbury University.
Chris Perry is Senior Director of Product Implementation. Responsible for quality and timeliness of implementation for our clients. He joins us from Ingram Micro, where as Divisional CIO he was responsible for systems that shipped products for leading companies such as Google, Apple, Microsoft and Walmart. In the 1990’s Chris worked for SAP and since then he has deployed SAP and other enterprise software in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
Chris is passionate about using his 25 years of experience to develop teams and processes.
Keith Hendrickson, Director of Energy & Water Solutions is a globally recognized subject matter expert providing advisory, consultative, applications, and software as a service expertise. Prior to Smart Energy Water he served as a Client Principal in the Mobility and Workplace services at Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
Prior to Hewlett Packard, Keith was the Global Director, Business Development and Strategy for Société Générale de Surveillance.
Keith also served as the Chief Technologist for Mobility in the Office of the Chief Technology Officer at Dell Inc. and at Qualcomm Inc. as a Senior Staff Engineer.
Keith has served as a contributing member to multiple standards bodies, industry groups and was an active member of Hewlett Packard Global Mobility Technical Council.
Keith has been awarded multiple patents by the United States Patent & Trade Office (USPTO) with many more pending.
Keith has degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
Guy Lipa is a strategic consultant in Los Angeles with clients including developers, Silicon Beach technology companies, family offices, and non-profits.
Between July 2014 and April 2017 Guy was appointed by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti as Chief of Staff and Executive Assistant General Manager of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), the nation’s largest public utility. At LADWP he led a cross-departmental team that developed and secured approval of a $17B capital investment strategic plan.
Previously Guy served as Senior Advisor to current Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti where he worked on public works projects, infrastructure, and job creation. Guy also served as Special Assistant to Congressmember and United States House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Tom Lantos where he oversaw energy, natural resources, and environmental issues and establish the Bipartisan Congressional Task Force Against Anti- Semitism as a permanent arm of the Congressional Human Rights Caucus.
Guy is a regular spokesperson on innovation, technology, sustainability, energy, water, and matters related to public-private partnerships. Media organizations and events include: The Los Angeles Times, KNX, KPCC, KCRW, KNBC-TV, CityAge, Clinton Global Initiative, UCLA Luskin Center for Innovation, and the Israel/California Water Conference.
Guy holds a B.A. in public policy and communications from The George Washington University and an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California.
Joanne Fletcher is the Vice President for Energy & Water Solutions at Smart Energy Water (sew). She has been in the municipal government field for 35 years and the utility industry for 28 years. She started her career with the City of Pasadena and moved to a management consulting firm where she completed a variety of staff and organization development projects for municipal agencies in California, Arizona, and Texas. Joanne then transitioned back to municipal government as the Administrative Officer for Burbank Water & Power. As a key member of the utility’s executive team, Joanne lead a division of 50 people responsible for all customer care functions including call center, meter reading, residential and commercial billing, field operations, payment processing, credit, collections, and customer programs and rebates. With BWP, she held several strategic roles and led critical projects and initiatives including interpretation and implementation of legislative mandates, determining water and energy conservation policy and rates, and, leading complex modernization and technology.
More recently, she was at the forefront of the smart grid initiative and successfully implemented yet another award-winning Customer Information System, wireless electric and water meter reading systems, a Meter Data Management System and a contemporary interactive customer portal.
She was featured in a book entitled “Profiles in Excellence: Utility Chief Customer Officers.” Joanne is a certified Change Management Practitioner, certified community mediator, holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Eric Dresselhuys is the President at Smart Energy Water. He has been involved in the energy, utility and infrastructure industry for 20 years. Most recently as Founder and EVP at Silver Spring Networks, he was involved from inception to NYSE IPO. Eric is a regular speaker and industry thought leader and helped drive Silver Spring to being the market leader, doing business across 5 continents. Prior to Silver Spring, Eric was with Innovatec and spend nearly 10 years in various sales and product roles at Procter and Gamble.
Charles Vallance is the Director for Solutions Architecture at Smart Energy Water (SEW) as part of the Product Engineering team and is responsible for the ongoing architectural evolution of the software platforms to ensure they are functional, scalable, robust, maintainable and extensible.
He is an experienced cloud architect and lead software engineer. Prior to joining SEW, he worked with 8i Technologies, where he was responsible for their hologram rendering pipeline in AWS. Prior to that, Charles has had many architecture and development leadership roles at various SaaS companies including Xero, LePort Labs, Bazinga Technologies, and, Global Relay.
Charles is based in Wellington, New Zealand with his family. He is a keen sportsman and avidly enjoys golf and skiing.
Alex Michael Faulkner is the Digital Creative Director for Smart Energy Water. Alex has been with SEW since 2012. Alex works with the CEO and CPO to create the designs they request.
Prior to SEW, Alex worked for Purdue University where he assisted in the development of x-ray imaging software, he interned for Disney and later worked as lead in the entertainment department, and created websites and product marketing materials under his brand BAMFdesigns for startup companies.
Alex graduated with academic honors from Purdue University and holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Graphics Technology with a minor in art and design. He also attended Disney University during his internship, and holds a “Mouseters” and “Ducktorate” degree in Professional Leadership and Development.
As Head of Human Resources, Veena is responsible for working with the Executive Team to develop, enhance and convert business strategies to HR strategy. This encompasses short term and long-term plans in the critical areas of growth, development, M&A, employee engagement and retention. She leads the development of the organization's plans and programs as a strategic partner, but particularly from the perspective of the impact on people. With over twenty years of Global HR experience, Veena specializes in Technology companies going through expansive growth. For over four years Veena has owned her own Consulting firm where she partnered with CEO’s and BOD’s of mid-size companies on building/rebuilding HR Departments, global M&A, Executive Coaching and aligning the HR function with the business by introducing and utilizing metrics and analytics. Prior to her own company, Veena led Global HR Departments where she created engagement programs such as sales training and leadership training that resulted in a significant increase in revenue within 12 months of implementation. Veena holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration from Cal Poly.
Rob Girvan, Vice President Sales, has 20+ years’ experience assisting companies in creating and adopting software technologies to enhance customer satisfaction and increase profitability. Rob’s experience includes 17 years with SAP, in addition to C3, Utegration and Honeywell. Most recently Rob was VP of Business Development at Utegration, prior to which he was VP Sales for the SAP Utilities practice.
Sowmya is the Sr. Director, Product Management and Engineering at SEW. Prior to SEW, she was responsible for end-to-end product development for Open Source based Big Data offerings in the public cloud. Prior to that, Sowmya was based in Seattle, and led product teams for Microsoft Azure, working on large scale Azure service in compute, data management and machine learning. She has spent a lot of time with customers building large scale data-centric using the products she was responsible for. At SEW, Sowmya is responsible to building products for scale, applying data-driven design and visual storytelling to different customers and is excited about the impact of AI based systems that feed on growing sets of data.
Anamika is the Business Unit Head – APAC at Smart Energy Water. She is a business leader with +23 years of Strategic Business Implementation (P&L Organic & Inorganic) Sales & Operations experience in running business with Fortune 500 MNCs like GE, Siemens, Honeywell, Hitachi, Schneider, etc. consistently driving profitable growth in India, SAARC & emerging countries.
Anamika’s industry experience includes Energy (Generation, T&D- Smart Grid), Water, Oil & Gas, Solar, Security and Smart City for IiOT technologies coupled with Automation, Control & Electrical Turnkey solutions across. She is a leader who is committed to society and has led the Corporate Social Responsibility at Schneider. Anamika is also associated with some NGOs/ Forums for Women & Child Empowerment. A professional in Engineering, she has attended the executive programs at Harvard, HCLI Singapore and the Indian Institute of Management - Bangalore. Anamika has also completed the Board Directorship Program from The University of Hong Kong.
